Gibeon Meteorite

Imagine a rock from another planet, a chunk of iron hurtling through deep space at 20-, 40-, 60,000 miles per hour, for over 4 billion years. Imagine this rock is finally caught by Earth’s gravitational pull, blasting into our atmosphere as a fireball streaking across the night sky, separating into thousands of smaller pieces and scattering across a desert in western Africa. The arrival of the Gibeon took place 30,000 years ago over what is today the country of Namibia. The Gibeon is unlike any iron found native to Earth. It is denser and heavier than earthly irons. It is 92% iron, 7% nickel, 1% cobalt, plus a mixture of other rare elements.

The Gibeon possesses properties that allow it to be bent, folded, brazed, and welded. Its natural alloy of metals allowed primitive man in the fall area to make spear points and tools thousands of years before Europe entered the Iron Age.

Most of our rings come in a standard size of 6.5 for women and 10 for men. The sizing of newly purchased rings is offered at no charge. If this is to be presented as a surprise, or you are unsure of the recipient’s finger size, we suggest giving the ring as is. After presentation sizing adjustments are promptly completed.
