For ten million years the sapphire crystal sat undetected in the southeast Asian jungle. Tigers with blue eyes roamed above. Blue rain swept through. Clouds parted, blue sky showed and another million years passed. The pretty blue crystal remained, then sometime in the last 7 years it was found. The guy that found the crystal did what every gem miner does with a good gem crystal…he held it to the sun, closed one eye, turned the gem around, and at that moment he knew on the market it would buy a house and feed his family for a year. He could feel his heart raging. When we acquired this finished, cut gem, we too could feel his excitement – because the sapphire is so sparkly in its pure blue color.

Then, because it was so nice, we did something we’ve only done once before. We surrounded it with eight ¼ carat diamonds. I wish I could be transported to that jungle 7 years ago and show the man the ring we made…but then perhaps he knew when he found the gem. He could sense its future.
