The Lighthouse Keeper’s Necklace

The sea, the eternal sea…Who knew it better than the men who kept vigil watching over it day and night in sun and wind, snow and fog, men who knew its many moods from starlight and moon-filled nights, to storm and gale with thundering surf at ocean’s edge. These were the light keepers and men of the Light Saving Service who scanned the horizon and timed the tides, who watched at ocean’s edge to ensure that everyone’s loved ones would return home safely.

For all who understand the magic and mystery of these castles of our coast and appreciate those who dedicate their lives to preserving and protecting, we offer the Lighthouse Keeper’s Necklace.

Made in sterling silver from original uniform buttons worn by New England’s lighthouse keepers and the Life Saving Service.

White Island – Isles of Shoals by Arthur Quartley – Inspiration for Cross’ Lighthouse Keeper’s Collection. This painting dates to 1895. From Cross’ permanent collection, the painting is on exhibit in our Portland Maine store from January to October.
